RoughStock Montana Whiskey Drink Recipes

We’ve put together a short list of some of our favorite ways to drink RoughStock Montana Whiskey…Why don’t you tell us some of yours?

RoughStock Sour

3 oz RoughStock Montana Whiskey
3/4 oz roasted barley syrup (recipe below)
1/2 oz orange and vanilla rooibos syrup (recipes below)
1 oz citrus (2 parts lime 1 part lemon .5 part orange)
1 dash Angostura orange bitters
put everything in a shaker with ice, shake, and strain into your favorite glass.

Roasted Barley Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 1/2 oz roasted barley (can buy at a good tea shop)
bring to a boil, let cool, strain barley from syrup.
Rooibos Syrup
2 cup sugar
2 cup water
1/2 oz vanilla rooibos (can buy at a good tea shop)
1/2 oz orange rooibos (can buy at a good tea shop)
bring to boil, let cool a little, strain rooibos from syrup

Montana Manhattan
3oz RoughStock Montana Whiskey
1 oz Port wine
½ oz Campari

Stir (don’t shake) all ingredients in a tall glass with ice for about 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


Montana Winter Welcome
2 oz RoughStock Montana Whiskey
1 fresh lemon wedge
1 tsp honey
2 cloves
1 cinnamon stick

Add all ingredients to a coffee mug and top with hot water. Let steep for 5 minutes. Stir and enjoy.


Montana Whiskey Ditch
3 oz RoughStock Montana Whiskey
1 oz tap water
1 ice cube

Sip and enjoy!


Montana Liquid Therapy (Penicillin Cocktail)
Ingredients
2.5 ounces RoughStock Montana Whiskey
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 ounce honey syrup*
3 slices fresh ginger
1/4 ounce Islay or Highland single malt scotch (such as Laphroaig or Springbank) depending on your comfort level of peat smoke.

* Honey syrup: combine equal parts honey and hot water and stir until well mixed. Let cool before using, and keep refrigerated.

Procedure
Using a wooden muddler or mixing spoon, muddle the fresh ginger in the bottom of a cocktail shaker until it is well mashed. Add the Montana Whiskey, lemon juice, and honey syrup, and shake well with ice. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass and pour the Islay/Highland scotch over the back of a bar spoon so that it floats atop the drink. Garnish with a piece of candied ginger.


Montana Whiskey Press
3 ounces RoughStock Montana Whiskey
2 ounces club soda
2 ounces 7-UP

Combine all ingredients in a rocks glass filled with ice. Sip and enjoy. A great summer refresher!
